Ticket includes: – 3 Topics per day – Continental Breakfast -Box Lunch 1. The New Evangelization (6 hours) i. The Roots of Catholic Evangelization Time: 1 Hour Description: A brief historical overview of the main documents for evangelization with a special emphasis on The New Testament, Ad Gentes, Evangelii Nuntiandi and Go Make Disciples. ii. Evangelization Defined: What, Why and How? Time: 1 Hour An analysis of the different definitions for evangelization, a review of the latest statistics that demonstrate the urgency of evangelization, and the principles for primary evangelization. An overview of a model for total parish evangelization. iii. The Joy the Gospel Time: 1 Hour Description: A overview of the term new evangelization from its origins to the present with a particular emphasis on Redemptoris Missio and Evangelii Guadium. iv. The Kerygma: The Power of the Proclaimed Gospel Time: 1 Hour Description: An analysis of the kerygma of Christ and of the apostles. Hands-on course for sharing the kerygma. v. Personal Testimony: Sharing your Faith Time: 1 Hour Description: An opportunity for everyone to learn how to share their personal conversion story in a kerymatic way. Hands-on course for formulating “Your Story”, and leading others to Jesus. Interactive component includes role-play and self-assessment. vi. Evangelizing Families Time: 1 Hour Description: This class will explain the reason the New Evangelization takes on a primary role in the family. It will also explore how to minister to families, including our own. 2. Jesus Christ and Parish Evangelization (6 hours) i. Jesus Christ: The Most Important Person in Your Parish Time: 1 Hour Description: In order to evangelize we must have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and understand His role in our Salvation. We will explore the person of Jesus as revealed in the New Testament, our relationship with Him, and how our relationship with the Lord empowers us to reach out to others in His Name. ii. What is the Parish and How do we Assess it? Time: 1 hour Description: A practical introduction into what the parish is, and a detailed overview on how to objectively assess the parish and conduct a parish self-assessment. iii. Establishing a Parish Evangelization Coordinator and Committee Time: 1 hour Description: A look at the role of the Evangelization Coordinator and/or committee at the parish, vicariate, and archdiocesan levels (including budgets, guidelines, policies, etc.). This class includes common challenges and resources available to the parish evangelization coordinator and/or evangelization committee. iv. Best Practices in Parish Evangelization Time: 1 Hour Description: An exploration of how evangelization can be inserted into other parish ministries (sacramental prep., Mass & Confession times, bereavement, etc). v. Effective Evangelization Ministries Time: 1 Hour Description: An analysis of different evangelization ministries and their effectiveness (e.g., Alpha for Catholics, ChristLife, Cursillo, Life in the Spirit Seminars, etc.) vi. Best Practices in Discipleship Formation Time: 1 hour Description: This class looks at best practices in the area of Faith and Catechesis, Spiritual and Discipleship Formation, and Ministry and Outreach. 3. Joyful Missionary Disciples (6 hours) i. The Holy Spirit: Gifts, Fruits, Charisms & Personal Assessment i. Time: 1 hour ii. Description: We will explore the role, the gifts, fruits and charism’s of the Holy Spirit, as well as a personal gifts and ministry assessment. ii. Adoration and the Prayer of Intercession Time: 1 hour Description:An examination of prayer if intercession and why it is crucial to the New Evangelization. Components include the role of the Holy Spirit in the life of prayer, types of prayer, how to form and train an intercessory prayer group. iii. Healing as a Parish Ministry of Evangelization Time: 1 hour Description: Personal brokenness, the need for deliverance, and lack of healing often impede people from becoming evangelized. This module focuses on how to start a parish healing ministry and create a more evangelizing and dynamic parish. iv. Effective Marketing: Casting the Net Time: 1 hour Description: And introduction into why marketing is so important, and an overview of some proven marketing techniques and timetables. v. The Art of Hospitality: Welcoming People to the Parish Time: 1 Hour Description: Effective parishes are welcoming. It is an attitude that is present not only at every liturgy but also the front office, clubs, organizations, and social gatherings. vi. Great Sunday Liturgies Time: 1 hour Description: Practical suggestions to make the Sunday experience amazing from the perspective of the lost and an exploration on how to facilitate the return and assimilation of visitors.
